Date/Location

Collection Date

The collection date for your cake is selected using the calendar at the first stage of the ordering process. By selecting one of the active dates, you can let us know when you want your cake to be ready for collection. All cakes require 3 days to produce from the date of ordering, not including Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays. The calendar will not allow you to choose a date outside this criteria.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR COMPUTERS OWN CLOCK IS SET TO THE WRONG DATE, THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR WILL NOT WORK. You can change this by right clicking your clock display on your PC or Mac, and choosing the option to adjust the date and time.

Collection

Please choose the most convenient of our shops to collect your cake from. This is part of the first stage of the ordering process so you can check if there is a convenient shop for you before going through the ordering process. A full list of our shops and contact details can be found in the "Contact Us"page accessible from the main toolbar at the top of the page. Cakes must be collected between 9am and 4.30pm. We do not currently offer a delivery service.

As you will have paid for your cake in advance, you will just need to bring in your receipt (which will print off after you purchase your cake online) and collect your finished cake.

Shape

You can choose between a round or a rectangular cake.

Type of Cake

You can choose from a traditional style birthday cake Sponge layered with raspberry jam and buttercream, Madeira Cake which is subtly layered with a thin layer of buttercream and raspberry jam, or our rich and very chocolatey Chocolate Cake, which is filled with chocolate buttercream!

Coating

Choose from Iced all over where white icing is used to cover the whole cake, or have your cake coated on the sides with our delicious Crushed meringue- kids love this! Crushed meringue is not suitable for Chocolate Cake.

Size

The drop down menu will display size options based on the shape of cake you have chosen.

Pricing

Price is calculated based on the type of cake chosen and the size of your cake.
Other sizes and cake types are available for orders placed within one of our shops.

Upload Your Image

Uploading an image from your PC

At this stage, you can choose from any pictures you have on your computer and use them to decorate your cake with an edible image. Uploading just means finding the photograph and copying it into the image of your cake onscreen. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the quality of the image you supply, so please make sure you use a good quality image to start with. One good rule of thumb is to look at your image at a reasonable size on your screen using the Preview option in Windows. If it looks good, then it should be fine for your cake. If the image is distorted or too grainy, it won’t look good on your cake. Our copying process cannot improve the quality of a poor image.

Due to variations in all computer screens, please note that printed colours may vary from those shown on PC screens, and, as the inks we use are edible, colours cannot be exactly replicated.

The image must be in JPEG format (if the original isn’t, you should be able to change it to JPEG using your own photograph manipulation software on your computer to open the picture up, then selecting the “save as” option and choosing JPEG as the file format to save it to).

If you are having problems uploading an image, the most common reasons are that the file size for the photograph is too large, or that the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome etc...) you are using is outdated. You can update most browsers from an option on the browser toolbar, or, in the case of Internet Explorer, click here to take you to the relevant part of the Microsoft website. Updating usually only takes a few minutes at the most, and you might just find it makes quite a difference to how websites work and appear in future! One or two browsers such as AOL (who have their own browser), may still cause problems with this site, as they do not appear to be updated very regularly.

Add Messages

This section allows you to add up to two messages in the colour and writing style of your choosing, before moving to the next stage where you can reposition these messages in relation to the picture on the top of your cake.

Messages 1 can be a default message made up of the most common cake greetings (e.g. Happy Birthday) or you can enter your own message. You can choose to use this, or leave it blank.

Message 2 allows you to either add your own text to message 1(e.g. to make it read Happy Birthday Jane) or make up a unique message of your choice (e.g. You’re a star, Ian!). You can choose to use this, or leave it blank.

You can use the return key in the message box if you wish your message to run on to two lines.

If all you want is an image on the cake you do not have to enter select or enter any messages.

Layout Cake

Choosing the Layout of your cake

Now that you’ve chosen your photograph and the messages to accompany it, you can resize the image and move both of the messages and the picture on top of your cake if you wish. Firstly choose which element in the decoration you wish to move using the three buttons on the screen. Simply click on the image or the message you have selected and drag it to reposition it.

If you wish to resize the image, use the slider.

If you need to change the size, colour or font of either of the messages, simply click the previous step button and make the changes you wish.

Don’t worry if you don’t like how you’ve changed it, simply click the reset option to revert the decoration to how it was to begin with and try again.

Once you are happy with the cake click on the 'Purchase' button where you can enter your details and complete the order.

Order Details

Here you can enter your details and click to pay for your cake. We use a secure online ordering system and do not store your details once they have been used for payment.
