Q1  How much notice do I need to give to place an order

A 

We require 5 working days notice on all cakes from our Cake Shop gallery, or three days on cakes ordered using our Create a Cake system. You can, of course, place your order much further in advance. The cake order calendar will not allow you to order outwith the required order time.



Q2  When can I collect my cake?

A 

Your cake will be available for collection from 9am on the date of collection.

Q3  Can you arrange delivery?

A 

We do not have a delivery service available, but have a network of shops located in convenient sites in town and city centres in the East coast of Scotland. Our exact locations are shown in the Contact Us page which you can access from the main menu at the top of the page.



Q4  What are your Terms and Conditions?

A 

Our sales policy and more information about ordering, cancelling orders and amending orders can be found by viewing our Terms and Conditions. During the ordering process, you will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and understood these. We have deliberately written our Terms and Conditions so they are easily understood, and would ask you please to read them carefully before placing an order.



Q5  Do you make other cakes from the ones shown on the website?

A 

We pride ourselves in being able to make almost any kind of cake. The ones available for order on our website are mostly taken from our popular range of novelty cakes, but show just a fraction of the shapes and styles we can and do make; from plain cakes to specially designed cakes for huge functions. Phone or call in at one of our branches to discuss a special request or an idea for a cake if you can’t see exactly what you’d like here on our website.



Q6  What will happen if I make a mistake in my order? Can I change it?

A 

When we receive your order, it will be checked over by a member of our staff. If there are any obvious mistakes, we will call you back. If you spot an error after ordering, phone us directly at our head office, and we will make sure the change is made to your cake providing you call us before the cake has actually been made and decorated. We cannot however be held responsible for errors made during the cake ordering process which are not spotted until the cake is collected, so please make sure you check through your order details carefully before placing your order.



Q7  Can I change my mind after I have placed an order?

A 

Quite simply ring our office number               0870 111 4810        and we will make any necessary changes, provided the changes are phoned before the cake has been made. Our office is open from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-12noon.



Q8  Is it safe to use my credit card for payment?

A 

Our payment system is operated directly through the bank using a recognised secure system. We receive a notification from the bank if the payment has been accepted, but neither receive nor hold any credit card information ourselves.



Q9  I have an allergy. Will I be able to eat your cake safely?

A 

Nut Allergies:-  Although most of our cake recipes do not contain any nuts, we do not have isolated production areas, so all products may contain nuts or nut traces. We therefore do not recommend our cake if you suffer from a nut allergy.

Gluten Allergy (Coeliac):- All our cakes contain gluten and are therefore not suitable for those who are allergic to it.

Dairy Products:- All our cakes contain egg and dairy products and are therefore not suitable for those who are allergic to them.



Q10  How will my cake be packaged?

A 

Your cake will be delivered to the shop in a cardboard box. Where possible, the cake will be lidded, but depending on the size and shape of the cake, this may not be possible, and the box may be open at the top but covered with cellophane to protect the cake.



Q11  Will my cake look the same as the one on screen?

A 

Even though each cake we make is a unique creation made by one of our large team of decorators, your cake will look very much like the cake shown in the brochure, though never identical.

If you are ordering from our Create A Cake Facility, the image shown at the end of the ordering process is a close approximation to the cake you will receive. However, as each cake is individual, and the relative dimensions of different cake sizes vary slightly, there will likely be some variation in layout and the way in which your image is cropped. We always endeavour to keep changes to a minimum.

Colours displayed on screen depend on the individual screen and the individual display settings, so identical colour matches are not possible.



Q12  Where will the message be on my cake?

A 

If you have chosen a message on your cake, the style will be a close match to that shown in the cake gallery. Where the message is shorter or longer than that shown in the gallery, the decorators may change the position of the writing to suit the layout of the cake.



Q13  How long will my cake keep?

A 

We bake and decorate our cakes so you receive them as fresh as possible. While cake may well last longer, we recommend that Sponge, Madeira or Chocolate Cake are eaten within five days of purchase. To ensure your cake keeps as fresh as possible, cover it in foodsafe clingfilm once it has been cut and store it in a cool, dry place if possible. Please remember not to store cake in your fridge, as, like bread, this will cause it to stale quickly!
